Brazilian striker Nilmar grabbed a late equaliser as Qatari side Al Rayyan came from behind three times to earn a hard-fought point in a 3-3 draw with Iranian giants Esteghlal in their Group D opener at the Al Rayyan Stadium on Wednesday.

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal secured top spot in Group D and their fifth consecutive appearance in the knockout rounds of the AFC Champions League after a 2-1 victory over Qatari side Al Gharafa on Tuesday.

With two early goals, Piroozi were able to walk away with an eventual 3 – 0 win over Al Gharafa in Group D of the AFC Champions League.

Eamon Zayed scored three on his AFC Champions League debut as Iranian giants Piroozi crushed Al Shabab Al Arabi of the UAE 6-1 on Wednesday night.

Saudi champions Al Hilal were able to pick up a point after having Osama Hawsawi sent off against Iranian Cup champions Piroozi in their AFC Champions League Group D game.
With a few minutes left before half time, Al Hilal found themselves a man and a goal down to Piroozi. Hawsawi was dismissed for handling the ball on the goalline and Ali Karimi stepped up to convert the resulting penalty.
