Sydney FC has been notified by the Asian Football Confederation that next week’s Asian Champions League matchday 2 clash with Kashima Antlers of Japan has been postponed.
Kashim is two hours north of Tokyo and has been affected by the devastating earthquake and tsunami that has devastated Japan on Friday.
Representatives from Sydney FC, Kashima, AFC and FFA will meet next week to determine a new date for the game.
Sydney’s next match in the ACL is against Shanghai Shenhua at Sydney Football Stadium on April 6.

Chinese side Changchun Yatai were the star performers on day 1 of Match Day 2 of the AFC Champions League 2010 after their 9-0 victory over Indonesia’s Persipura in Group F. Beijing made it a great day for Chinese clubs as they won over Kawasaki Frontale 3-1 victory for their second win in Group E.

Almir scored two minutes into injury time as defending champions Pohang Steelers, returned to winning ways on the second night of Match Day 2 of the AFC Champions League 2010 on Wednesday. The Steelers scored a 2-1 victory over Japan’s Sanfrecce Hiroshima for their first win in Group H.
Adelaide United made it two from two in Group H after a 2-0 victory away to China’s Shandong Luneng. Goals scored by Sergio van Dijk and Matthew Leckie.

Jinan: Goals in each half from Sergio van Dijk and Matthew Leckie helped Adelaide United to an impressive 2-0 victory over Shandong Luneng at Shandong Sports Centre.
Van Dijk opened the scoring midway through the opening period of the AFC Champions League Group H encounter when the Dutchman got on the end of Lucas Pantelis’ teasing cross at the back post to head the Reds into the lead.
Leckie doubled Adelaide’s lead 20 minutes from the end when the Shandong defence switched off and allowed the youngster to meet Scott Jamieson’s corner …

A dramatic last-minute strike from substitute Yasushi Endoh saw Kashima Antlers fight back from a goal down to beat Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors 2-1 at Jeonju World Cup Stadium.
A beautifully crafted goal just before the break from Brazilian star Eninho gave Jeonbuk a first-half lead but Koji Nakata equalised midway through the second period before Endoh snatched the win with just seconds remaining.

Sasa Ognenovski made a triumphant return home as the defender opened the scoring and Korean outfit Seongnam Ilhwa recorded a crucial 2-0 win over Melbourne Victory in AFC Champions League Group E.
Ognenovski slid home the opening goal of a scrappy match in the 40th minute before Yun Young-sun then made sure of the result with the second five minutes from full-time.
