Bunyodkor advanced to the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League as Alibobo Rakhmatullaev’s dramatic extra-time header secured a 3-2 win over Australia’s Adelaide United on Wednesday to send the Uzbekistan champions through 5-4 on aggregate.

Like in the first leg, Adelaide again adopted an uncharacteristic attacking approach and were rewarded after only four minutes as Fyfe – who netted after just seven minutes of the first leg – rifled a low shot into the bottom corner following good work from Dario Vidosic.

Ulsan led the tie after the first leg by a solitary goal but Kim Ho-gon’s side clearly had no intention of sitting on the lead in front of a boisterous crowd at the Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Stadium.

Sepahan were unlucky not to take the lead when Mohammad Reza Khalatbari rocked the crossbar early on.
At the other end, Al Ahli captain Taisir Al Jassim had his team’s best chance just before the hour when he made a clear run into the box only to be denied by Reza Mohammadi’s superb …
