Pakhtakor coach Victor Djalilov was pleased with the battling spirit shown by his players as the Uzbek side came from behind to beat Iran’s Saba Battery 2-1 at Pakhtakor Stadium on Wednesday.

Al Hilal coach Georges Leekens lauded his players after the Saudi side all but secured their place in the last 16 of the ACL with a 3-1 win over Al Ahli of the UAE at Al Rashid Stadium on Wednesday. Saudi Arabia giants Al Hilal recorded their first win of the Asian Champions League, defeating UAE’s Al Ahli 2-1 at the King Fahd International Stadium.
The three points puts the Riyadh club on to five points from three games, two behind leaders Pakhtakor.
The visitors took the lead through the Young Asian Player of the Year, Ahmed Khalil, after just 12 minutes. 2007 Asian Player of the Year, Yasser Al Qahtani, levelled at the 30 minute mark.

South Korean champions Suwon Samsung Bluewings stunned their Japanese counterparts Kashima Antlers with a 4-1 win in the opening match in Group G of the Asian Champions League.
Two goals late in the first half put Suwon in control and Kashima never looked like getting back into the game.
